About
Andrea Fraser Artist
My name is Andrea Fraser. I design and create enamelled jewellery. I take my inspiration from the natural landscape and seascapes of Scotland where I live. I use a wide colour pallet with a focus on blues and greens. My handcrafted enamel jewellery is made in my small workshop using various enamelling techniques. I enjoy working with torch fired, vitreous glass enamels as well as low fired enamels.
Why Hope Enamels
Faced with the prospect of loosing my day job in March 2020 due to Covid19, I set my sights to working on a new project of enamelling. Learning online from great tutors like Ricky Frank has kept me positive through a very difficult time. I love working with glass and enamels are no exception. The techniques are completely different and I use a blow torch to fire these pieces. It's been great to start on this new journey.

Balfroni Scottish Jewellery
Balfroni Scottish Jewellery - Selling my jewellery all started with my mini kiln in my flat in 2016. I set up Balfroni Scottish Jewellery and enjoyed travelling to craft fares and local events in Aberdeen. You can see some of my fused glass jewellery here at Balfroni Scottish Jewellery.
Balfroni Photography
Most artists have a camera nearby to photograph their work. I studied Art & Design at college where I was introduced to the old fashioned DSLR cameras. We worked in black and white and developed our own photos in the dark room. We have come a long way since then and I use a Nikon DSLR D7500 which I love. I carry my camera wherever we go and love capturing anything I like as we are on our travels. I lived in cities most of my adult life but recently moved to a more rural setting. Having a little garden has given me the opportunity to also focus on nature closer to home. You can see some of my portfolio at Balfroni Photography.
